T.H.DIXON & Co. Ltd.
1995 saw a new agreement being reached between T.H.Dixon and the Kohler Coating Machinery Corporation of the US.
The agreement (see below) has far reaching consequences for both companies and provides opportunities in areas of the world that hitherto were not possible.
"A joint manufacturing and marketing agreement has been announced between T.H. Dixon, the specialist supplier of Coating and Laminating systems to the Paper, Film and Foil Converting industries and the Kohler Coating Machinery Corporation, the US based company supplying speciality rod, blade and air knife coaters and associated products to the Paper and Converting industries.
The products will be marketed under the brand name "Dixon-Kohler"
Under the terms of the agreement, Dixon will manufacture and market, from the UK, the complete range of Dixon and Kohler products into Europe and Russia. Kohler Coating, meanwhile, has a reciprocal agreement to market Dixon and its own products in the Americas. Countries outside their home territories are to be covered jointly. The agreement also enhances Dixon's presence in the US by offering additional Sales and Service outlets, through Kohler, previously covered from the UK.
Dixon-Kohler is now able to offer everything up to complete turnkey packages covering a much broader sphere of applications.
The wide range includes self-adhesive products, magnetic media coatings, carbonless copy materials, graphic arts coatings, photo-resist and special laminations for the production of printed circuits. And for the Paper industry, Dixon-Kohler will now supply on and off-line coaters in widths exceeding 6 metres. The combined operations of the two companies have installed equipment in over 55 countries and offer full technical support worldwide.
Kohler Coating has operated since 1959 to supply speciality coaters, coating preparation, winding and unwinding and associated web handling equipment for Paper, Paper Converting and the Metals industries. Kohler is also able to supply coating formulation technology.
In a joint statement Tony Smee, managing director of Dixon and Ned Kohler, president of Kohler Coating Corporation said:-
"Both companies realised the opportunities available if we found a suitable partner to expand operations with. We are delighted to be joining forces and look forward to a long and successful working relationship''.
